Cohort Mobile

Because international development, humanitarian assistance, and relief organizations often work in parts of the world with poor telecommunications infrastructures, any technology solution that requires reliable Internet access is necessarily limited in its application. To address this challenge, Cohort includes mobile functionality for traveling users and/or users with infrequent or unreliable Internet access. Cohort Mobile can be installed either on a laptop or on a field office server to be used by multiple people in the field office. 

Because Cohort Mobile is a full installation of Cohort, it can be used even when there is no Internet access available. Data can be viewed, searched, added, deleted, and modified. On the occasions when Internet access is available, an automatic synchronization process connects Cohort Mobile with the central Cohort system to exchange updates and edits. Cohort's built-in conflict resolution logic resolves the vast majority of data conflicts that may occur, and Cohort allows administrators to reconcile any remaining conflicts.
